How it works

Four slips, every morning

By 08:00 EAT we publish four accumulator slips for that day's matches: 5 Odds, 10 Odds, 100 Odds and 1200 Odds. Each one aims for total odds in a set range:

  • 5 Odds: total 4.5–6, each pick 1.20–2.00
  • 10 Odds: total 9–12, each pick 1.30–2.50
  • 100 Odds: total 90–120, each pick 1.30–2.50
  • 1200 Odds: total 1,000–1,500, each pick 1.50–4.00

Every pick kicks off by 10 pm EAT. A slip never has two picks from the same match.

The 5 Odds slip is free for everyone. Members see all four. Once a slip is settled, its picks and result are published for everyone, so the whole record stays public.

How picks are chosen

Every morning we collect prices from many bookmakers for thousands of matches. Bookmakers are usually right, so their prices are our starting point: we take the middle price for each outcome and remove the bookmakers' built-in margin to get a fair chance.

For goals markets (over/under, both teams to score) we also use our own model. It rates every team's attack and defence from over a year of results against the opponents they actually faced. On match results (home, draw, away), our tests showed the bookmakers alone were more accurate, so there we follow them.

Then, from all the picks available, a computer search finds the combination with the highest chance of winning whose total odds land in the slip's range. When our estimate and the bookmakers disagree wildly, we assume we are the ones who are wrong and leave that pick out.

What the estimated chance means

Every slip shows our honest estimate of its chance of winning. Bigger odds mean much smaller chances:

  • 5 Odds: roughly 1 in 5
  • 10 Odds: roughly 1 in 10
  • 100 Odds: roughly 1 in 100 or worse
  • 1200 Odds: roughly 1 in 1,000 or worse

Most slips lose — especially the big ones. No method can make a 100-odds slip likely to win, and anyone who claims otherwise is not being straight with you. The Stats page shows how our estimates compare with real results.

How results are marked

  • Every market is settled on the 90-minute score. Extra time and penalties never count, the same as bookmakers.
  • Draw no bet: a draw is void.
  • A postponed, cancelled or abandoned match is void. The slip carries on at odds 1.00 for that pick.
  • Results are marked once a day, early each morning. Until then a slip shows as pending.
  • Each slip locks 30 minutes before its first match. After that it is never changed.

About the odds shown

The odds on each slip are the middle price across bookmakers. Your bookmaker may offer a little more or less, so your total odds may differ.
