Responsible gambling
Betting should only ever be paid entertainment, for adults aged 25 and over. Our predictions are statistical estimates, not guarantees — most slips lose, and no method changes that. If betting has stopped being fun, help is free and confidential.
Where to get help
National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (Uganda)
Toll-free helpline for players, and the national self-exclusion programme, which bars you from licensed betting in Uganda for a period you choose.
GamHelp Kenya
Free, confidential support for gambling addiction: counselling, and weekly peer support groups in person and online.
Gamblers Anonymous
Free peer support from people who have been there. Meetings worldwide, including online meetings you can join from anywhere.
Butabika National Referral Hospital (Kampala)
Uganda’s national mental health hospital, which works with the gaming regulator to support problem gamblers. Your nearest health centre can refer you.
Warning signs
- Betting more than you planned, or more than you can afford to lose
- Chasing losses — betting again to win back what you lost
- Borrowing money, selling things or using school fees, rent or food money to bet
- Hiding your betting from family or friends
- Feeling restless, anxious or irritable when you try to cut down
- Betting to escape problems or low mood
If any of these sound familiar, please talk to one of the services above.
Keeping it under control
- Decide your budget before you bet, and stop when it is gone.
- Never chase losses. A loss is the cost of the entertainment, not a debt to win back.
- Use your bookmaker’s tools: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
- Never bet with borrowed money or money meant for essentials.
- Big-odds slips almost always lose. Our own estimates show how rarely — read them before you stake.
- Take breaks. Days without betting are normal and healthy.
BK Predicts is for adults aged 25 and over. We publish predictions; we do not take bets. See how our slips work and our real track record.
